Why DEPC-Free Matters

DEPC (diethylpyrocarbonate) is the most common chemical treatment for nuclease removal — but DEPC residue is a documented inhibitor of downstream enzyme reactions, especially reverse transcription and in vitro translation. Most autoclave protocols are designed to convert DEPC to ethanol and CO2, but trace residue is a recurring debate in molecular biology literature.

Pro-Lab's process removes nucleases without DEPC — designed for labs running sensitive RT-PCR, qPCR, IVT, or library-prep workflows where residual chemistry could matter.

Per-Lot Release Testing

Every lot is manufactured under controlled conditions and tested to confirm absence of detectable DNase and RNase activity. Testing uses validated enzymatic assays with sensitivity appropriate for trace nuclease detection. Only lots that meet internal release specifications are approved for distribution.

FAQ

Is this water DEPC-treated?

No. Pro-Lab's process removes nucleases without DEPC or other chemical treatments.

Is every lot tested?

Yes — each lot is tested for absence of detectable DNase and RNase activity using validated enzymatic assays before release.

How should I store it?

15–30 °C (room temperature), in the original container, tightly closed and protected from contamination.

Is this suitable for production / manufacturing / NGS workflows?

Yes. This is manufacturing-grade molecular biology water — designed for production-scale PCR / RT-PCR / qPCR, NGS library prep, QC labs, and in-line reagent prep. Every lot is release-tested for DNase and RNase activity; lot number and expiry are printed on every container; CoA is available on request by lot.

What lot documentation is supplied?

The IFU confirms lot-release testing for DNase and RNase activity, and the lot number and expiry are printed on the container. Contact support@pro-lab.us to ask which additional controlled documents are available for a specific lot.

Do you offer volume pricing?

Yes — 6× and 12× case quantities are tiered. Use the Get Volume Quote button.

Do you ship internationally?

Contact Pro-Lab Direct for current US availability. For Canada and the UK, contact the applicable Pro-Lab regional office before ordering.
